Recent world events have once more proven that we cannot assume that the sustainability of our natural, special geography and lifestyle can be taken for granted. Muskoka Steamships & Discovery Centre (MSDC), a vibrant cultural hub, located in Gravenhurst, Ontario continually strives to provide relevant educational experiences for all visitors.
Before us is a once in a generation opportunity to rethink our future and MSDC has taken the decision to inspire relevant action by focusing on sustainability in local ways that can make a difference globally.
Supported by Community Partners and endorsers across the region we will take a sustainability message to over 100,000 people, 60,000 MSDC visitors and 40,000 readers, of a special Sustainability edition of our Reflections magazine, to both educate and inspire individual actions in an entertaining and enjoyable way.
We are building an exhibit titled “LOVE MUSKOKA ♥ SUSTAIN MUSKOKA!”
Discover ways to make a difference” to be opened May 2021 and we need your financial support.
This will be a first-class professionally designed exhibit to highlight important ways we can all make a difference and inspire action. It will be provocative and challenging with the objective of changing attitudes and behaviours towards climate change. While focused on Muskoka, in reality, it will resonate with all our visitors as it is what is required all over the world.
The estimated design and fabrication cost is $150,000. We are officially launching the campaign today and have already raised close to 10% of the funding from our board directors. We are looking for widespread participation, so any and all amounts will be appreciated.
Please consider supporting this Sustainability initiative with a donation. We will issue an Official Tax Receipt for all donations of $25 or more.
