LOVE MUSKOKA ♥ SUSTAIN MUSKOKA!
The Muskoka Discovery Centre is excited to announce the continued rollout of its landmark exhibit, Love Muskoka Sustain Muskoka—a multi-phase, immersive experience centered on environmental stewardship and sustainability in the Muskoka region. As featured on the MDC website, this transformative exhibit is already coming to life, with the first two phases now successfully installed and two more exciting unveilings scheduled for this spring.
At the heart of the exhibit is a high-definition 16-by-9-foot LED screen, provided by Planar, a global leader in audiovisual technology. This large-scale digital feature serves as the storytelling centerpiece, presenting vivid imagery, immersive video, and interactive presentations that bring Muskoka’s environmental challenges and successes to life. Through powerful visual storytelling, visitors are guided to understand how their choices—both individual and collective—shape the natural world around them.
Love Muskoka Sustain Muskoka is more than a display; it’s a call to action. The exhibit highlights local sustainability practices, showcases community-led conservation initiatives, and celebrates the region’s unique natural ecosystems. Drawing from partnerships with environmental organizations, Indigenous voices, and sustainability experts, it empowers guests to explore real-world solutions to protect Muskoka’s environment for generations to come.
This exhibit builds on the momentum of The Muskoka Story trilogy, which debuted in 2023 and includes:

Misko-Aki: Confluence of Cultures, presenting over 10,000 years of Indigenous history

Evolving Muskoka: Life on the Edge of the Shield, tracing the region’s social and industrial development

Wanda III: Steam to Green, showcasing sustainable innovation through the electrification of a historic steam yacht
Together, these exhibits explore Muskoka’s past and present—Love Muskoka Sustain Muskoka looks firmly to the future.
Beyond its educational mission, the exhibit also serves as a versatile community platform. The LED screen and exhibit space support speaker series, event rentals, collaborative presentations, and community programming, ensuring ongoing engagement across the region.
With the first two phases now in place and two more major unveilings arriving this spring, Love Muskoka Sustain Muskoka continues to evolve toward its full vision, leading into its complete realization in spring 2026. Virtual Speaker Series on Sustainability
The world is talking about Sustainability and Climate Change — and Muskoka Discovery Centre brought the conversation home. We assembled top-tier speakers to discuss the impact on Muskoka and highlight actionable steps you can take to make a difference. Building on this momentum, MDC is currently hosting How Lakes Work, a three-episode webinar series airing January 20th, 27th, and February 3rd, 2026, starting at 7:00 pm. This engaging series explores the science of Muskoka’s lakes and the forces that shape them, offering timely insight into the health and future of our waterways.
