Onsite and In-Class Options for Students of All Ages
Muskoka Discovery Centre is the perfect destination for any school trip.
At the Muskoka Discovery Centre, learning comes alive. Our hands-on, inquiry-driven programs invite students to explore Muskoka’s rich heritage, cultures, science, and natural environment in ways that spark curiosity and deepen understanding.
Students can experience our award-winning Misko-Aki: Confluence of Cultures exhibit—an immersive journey into Indigenous history, knowledge, culture, and storytelling. Through our Indigenous Studies programming, learners are supported by our knowledgeable Cultural Guides, who share meaningful and respectful perspectives on Indigenous knowledge, traditions, and connections to the land and water.
Students can now also explore our newest permanent exhibit, Love Muskoka, Sustain Muskoka. This engaging experience looks at the environmental challenges facing Muskoka today and encourages students to think about what we can all do to protect the region for future generations. Through themes of protection, reduction, preparation, demonstration, and reflection, students explore climate change, conservation, sustainability, watershed health, and environmental stewardship. The exhibit also incorporates Indigenous knowledge and the concept of Two-Eyed Seeing, encouraging learners to consider different ways of understanding and caring for the natural world.
Also onsite for the 2026/27 school year is Science North’s Jane Goodall: Reasons for Hope. This inspiring travelling exhibit shares stories of people and projects making a positive difference for our planet. Inspired by Dr. Jane Goodall’s message of hope and action, the experience encourages students to see how individuals, communities, and innovative ideas can help create meaningful environmental change. It is a natural complement to Love Muskoka, Sustain Muskoka and provides another opportunity for students to explore conservation, sustainability, and their own role in shaping the future.
Together with our guided tours, curriculum-connected workshops, Watershed Wonders, and other interactive learning experiences, these exhibits make the Muskoka Discovery Centre an exciting destination for school groups of all ages.
