A New Chapter for the Discovery Gallery
The Muskoka Discovery Centre proudly continues its renewed vision for the Discovery Gallery, a space that has quickly become a vibrant hub for creativity and community connection. Formerly known as the Greavette Room, the Gallery is now celebrating its first full year of showcasing diverse artistic voices and inspiring dialogue through visual art.
The current feature, True North: A Dual Perspective by Marshmellow Art, opened to the public on October 4 with a well-attended reception and will remain on view through November 30. This striking exhibition explores Northern identity and landscape through the complementary visions of two local artists, blending contemporary style with heartfelt regional storytelling.
With five exhibits planned annually, each rotating every two months, the Discovery Gallery continues to grow as a cornerstone for artistic expression in Muskoka. Looking ahead, the Gallery is committed to supporting local artists through future exhibitions and collaborations, with plans to introduce art classes this winter—further expanding opportunities for learning, creativity, and community engagement.

Join 1,000+ Holiday Shoppers at the 3rd Annual Christmas Market
The Muskoka Discovery Centre is thrilled to announce its 3rd Annual Christmas Market, set to be the biggest and most festive yet! Taking place on Saturday, November 29 (10:00 AM – 7:00 PM) and Sunday, November 30 (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM), this two-day celebration coincides with the Town of Gravenhurst’s Winter Celebrations, including the Tree Lighting on Saturday evening. With over 1,000 visitors expected, the market offers a unique opportunity for vendors to showcase their products while shoppers enjoy the holiday spirit. Santa himself will make special appearances both days from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, adding extra magic for families and children.
This year, the Discovery Centre is offering reduced booth fees to make participation even easier: $150 for a single booth and $200 for a double booth. Vendors are encouraged to bring their own tables, décor, signage, and lighting, and those requiring electricity should contact the Centre in advance, as outlets are limited. The floor plan is still being finalized, and table numbers will be provided upon arrival for set-up.
In addition to the vibrant marketplace, the event will feature a Raffle Table to support ongoing Discovery Centre initiatives. Vendors and supporters are invited to contribute items, with their company name displayed alongside each donation. Space is filling up fast, so interested vendors are encouraged to register early to secure their spot. For registration or questions about electrical access, email retail@realmuskoka.com. This holiday season, join the Muskoka Discovery Centre for a festive weekend of shopping, community, and celebration!
