Help Us Keep History Afloat: Support the RMS Segwun’s Restoration Fund
In 2025, the RMS Segwun reached an extraordinary milestone, 100 years on the Muskoka lakes. From her beginnings as the paddle wheeler Nipissing, to her relaunch as Segwun on July 9, 1925, she has remained a living symbol of Muskoka’s heritage.
For a century, Segwun has carried more than passengers, she carries memories: the gentle glide across sunlit lakes, the distant whistle of steam, children on docks, twilight campfires, and summers spent with family and friends. She is a vessel of our shared past, an enduring link to generations of Muskoka summers.
But even a century of grace and service cannot withstand time without care.
Beginning in Fall 2025, Segwun will undergo a major restoration, addressing both her woodwork and mechanical systems. While yearly maintenance has kept her afloat, this critical restoration is essential to preserve her for future generations.
Segwun is more than a historic ship, she is a living national treasure. Your support ensures she continues to sail, carrying the stories and spirit of Muskoka into her second century.
Please consider donating today. Let’s ensure the grand lady of the lakes sails proudly into her second century. All donations are eligible for an official tax receipt.
