Rainy Days and Outside Voices
July 17, 2017
We all know that is one of the wettest summer’s in that past decade in Muskoka. Don’t let the rain keep you away. Muskoka Steamships & Discovery Centre has a number of rainy day activities that encourage outside voices and laughter.
Pirate Cruises – Rainy Days or Sunshine
The excitement begins dockside, when the pirates-in-training encounter members of the pirate crew. Toy swords have been brandished; and toy muskets pointed until a hearty “argh matey” ignites giggles and squeals of fear.
Rain or shine, our piratical volunteers go all out to make our Pirate Cruise an unforgettable memory for all. Captain Corbin talks of treasure. Captain Hook raises his hook above his head while his henchmen plot to board the ship to steal the treasure. Only the enthusiastic brandishing of toy swards from the pirates-in-training lining the rail saves the day.
Eventually the treasure chest is opened and the plunder shared with the enthusiastic crew. Using their outside voices, even on rainy days, the pirates-in-training cheer their approval. Details are here.
Ice Queen and Snow Princess Cruises
The sparkly dresses of the ice queens and snow princesses who join our cruise either July 22 or August 12, 2017 are never in danger of becoming damp. The entire adventure unfolds on our covered deck. Songs are sung, tales are told, and little girls’ fantasies are fulfilled on Wenonah II. We sail rain or shine. Details are here.
Intergalactic Adventure Cruises for Space Cadets
New for 2017, this adventure appeals to the space cadet in all of us. Only sailing twice in 2017: Saturday, July 29 and August 19, 2017, from 10:30AM to 12:30PM, the tickets are sold first come, first served to this down to earth adventure aboard Wenonah II. Details are here.
