The Muskoka Watershed Gallery

Opening in July 2018 is the first new permanent exhibit at the Discovery Centre since 2006. The working title is currently the Watershed Gallery. Watch this space for updates as we move from concept to reality.

The Watershed Gallery will be interactive, using the most up-to-date technology for a world-class hands-0n experience. We have called upon the Muskoka researchers who have informed the world’s understanding of watersheds to provide advice about content.

The story of Muskoka’s Watershed is all about fun and games – and – science. All ages will come away with a better understanding of how a watershed works and how we have to work to protect it.

To state the obvious – Muskoka s story is water. It has been since the arrival of our aboriginal people, and continues to be to this day. Our Watershed Gallery will demonstrate how our lifestyle has been shaped by the water that surrounds us.

Would you help us raise the funds to tell that story as well as we can?

There are many ways to donate. All donations  $10 and over will receive a tax receipt.  You can make an etransfer by emailing molly[at]; you can send a cheque made out to Muskoka Steamship & Historical Society to 185 Cherokee Lane, Gravenhurst, ON, P1P 1Z9 or you can donate online.

Thank you for any help you can provide!
