The Keepers return to Muskoka Discovery Centre
Muskoka Discovery Centre Goes Wild “AGAIN”
What is a kinkajou? Did you ever think you would meet a spurthigh tortoise on your summer vacation? The Muskoka Discovery Centre is thrilled to be offering these amazing opportunities and more from Wednesday July 12 to Friday July 14th as we welcome back “The Keepers”.
Travelling from the Ottawa area and passionate about wildlife conservation, “The Keepers” is a dynamic organization now embarking on a journey across North America to educate and entertain people about our treasured animal friends. Their visit to the Muskoka Discovery Centre will include a spurthigh tortoise, reptile, a tarantula, a hedgehog, a macaw and kinkajou to name some of the animals coming this visit.
“We are so excited to be bringing these wonderful animals to the area for the enjoyment of all families”, noted Ann Curley, Operations Manager for the Muskoka Discovery Centre. “We are fairly confident that this will be the first visit for these species to the Muskoka region. It’s a really special opportunity”, expressed Curley.
After working with rare and endangered animals for over a decade, “The Keepers” is now on a quest to inform people about responsible pet ownership, conservation and the importance of releasing animals back into their natural habitat. During their visit to the Muskoka Discovery Centre, the interactive wildlife presentations will be offered 4 times each day at 10:00, 12:00, 2:00 and 4:00. Each show includes a close-up meet and greet opportunity with these unique animals.
Regular admission rates to Muskoka Discovery Centre apply at $30.00 per family, $70.00 for a Family 3 Day Pass (family is 2 adults and up to 5 children) $12.00 per adult and $6.50 per child. For more information about upcoming programs, please contact Olivia at (705) 687-2115.
