@CultureDays – September 29, 30 and October 1, 2017
September 12, 2017
Founded in 2009, Culture Days is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a national network of cultural connections devoted to providing Canadians with opportunities to participate in, and appreciate, all forms of arts and culture.
Through an annual three-day national celebration each September, hundreds of thousands of artists and cultural organizations in hundreds of cities and towns come together and invite Canadians to participate in free interactive and behind-the-scenes activities to discover their cultural spirit and passion.
Muskoka Steamships & Discovery Centre’s Culture Days Free Presentations
Presentations by Muskoka Steamships & Discovery Centre will be included among more than 7,500 free activities that are already registered to take place in some 900 communities across Canada as part of the 8th annual Culture Days – September 29, 30 and, October 1, 2017. For the not-for-profit owner and operator of a keystone of Muskoka culture, this is an extraordinary opportunity to share its vision and mission while interacting directly with the community in an engaging way.
Steamships have been sailing on lakes in Muskoka since 1866. The first to be launched was Wenonah, owned by A P Cockburn, a man with an extraordinary talent for turning vision into reality. Muskoka Steamships & Discovery Centre’s flagship, RMS Segwun is the last in that long line of authentic Muskoka steamers. She is the only steam-powered Royal Mail Ship in the world.
